[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] On the 23rd, Jeonbuk Gochang-gun announced that Gochang Mudflat was finally selected for the ‘2023 World Heritage Media Art Show’ planning service project hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration.
This contest is a preliminary planning support project for local governments for the Cultural Heritage Administration’s ‘2023 World Heritage Media Art Contest’ to be held in July and August.
The core is the planning of media art and story development using advanced immersive content convergence technology reflecting the locality and value characteristics of the World Heritage Gochang Mudflat.
Beyond simple experience of Gochang Mudflat, a spatial storytelling will be created where advanced heritage that combines World Heritage, art, and ICT can be experienced.
Under the theme of ‘Another Universe, the Living and Breathing Gochang Mudflat,’ the plan is to capture the unique ecological values of Gochang Mudflat, such as endangered migratory birds and high biodiversity, through various media techniques.
Na Cheol-ju, head of the Cultural Heritage Tourism Division of the county, said, “We will create stories that can externally promote the important values of the World Heritage Gochang Mudflat,” and added, “We also expect the effect of revitalizing the region by giving life and re-illuminating the mudflat, which is the living space of local residents, through media.”
