Gwangju Seo-gu Promotes Electric Motorcycle Rental Project for Small Business Owners

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 15th that it will promote the ‘Electric Motorcycle Rental Project’ for local small business owners (self-employed) operating their own delivery services, the first of its kind nationwide.

This project is part of the policy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045. It rents electric motorcycles insured under non-commercial comprehensive transportation insurance, along with delivery boxes and stands necessary for delivery, to small business owners who wish to operate or are currently operating their own delivery services. Delivery agency businesses are excluded.

The support scale is a total of 10 units, with one unit provided per person, and the rental period can be up to 10 months (March to December).

Applications are only accepted from business owners with a Small Business Confirmation Certificate.

The selection criteria will be ▲lowest sales amount in the past year based on value-added tax taxable standard certificate ▲earliest business registration date on the business registration certificate ▲and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Required documents include the application form and consent form, consent for collection, use, and provision of personal information, Small Business Confirmation Certificate, value-added tax taxable standard certificate, and business registration certificate. Applications can be submitted until the 28th.

A Seo-gu official said, “As the delivery culture rapidly grew due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the operation of motorcycles surged, causing continuous issues with exhaust fumes and noise. We plan to lead carbon neutrality in the transportation sector by promoting the electric motorcycle rental project to expand the supply and use of eco-friendly electric motorcycles.”
