Nongshim Holds Drawing Contest to Commemorate 'World Childhood Cancer Day'
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Nongshim announced on the 15th that it will hold the 2nd "World Childhood Cancer Day Commemorative Drawing Contest" to support children with leukemia and pediatric cancer.
This contest is held under the theme "Healthy Me, A World Full of Hope." Children and adolescents under 19 nationwide who are patients or survivors of pediatric cancer and rare blood disorders can participate, with up to two submissions per person. Nongshim will sell a limited edition of Baeksansu featuring the winning artworks and donate a portion of the sales to children with leukemia and pediatric cancer.
The contest categories include "Gratitude to Medical Staff," "What I Love and Cherish Most in the World," "The Most Fun Moment in the Hospital," and "Support for Friends Undergoing Treatment." Detailed information can be found on the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association website.
Held for the second time following last year, this contest was planned to raise social awareness of leukemia and pediatric cancer in commemoration of "World Childhood Cancer Day" on February 15 every year.
A portion of the proceeds from the limited edition Baeksansu sales will be used to support pediatric cancer patients in 2023. In fact, on the 8th, Nongshim signed a sponsorship agreement with the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association and donated 100 million KRW, which is 2.15% of the sales from last year's limited edition Baeksansu.
