Jeongeup-si Calls for Participation of Farms in 'Livestock Odor Improvement Project' Until the 28th
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 15th that it is recruiting livestock farms to participate in the 2023 Livestock Odor Improvement Project to promote management stability of livestock farms and create a sustainable livestock environment.
The Livestock Odor Improvement Project involves each city and county preparing and submitting a project plan, after which the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs selects the final project participants through document screening and presentation evaluation.
Once selected as a project participant, farms will implement livestock odor reduction projects with a total project budget of 3 billion KRW, with up to 500 million KRW per farm.
The city plans to prevent livestock odor in advance through purification discharge, liquid fertilizer circulation systems, and high-speed fermentation facilities for livestock manure, which are most effective in odor reduction, while fostering environmentally friendly livestock farming in harmony with the surroundings.
The project funding is composed of 20% national funds, 20% local funds, and 60% loans and self-financing, with livestock farms receiving 40% of the project costs as subsidies.
Livestock farms wishing to participate can apply by submitting an application form and supporting documents to the town or township office or the community service center where the livestock barn is located by the 28th.
A city official said, "We ask livestock farms to actively participate in efforts to reduce livestock odor to create a sustainable livestock environment," adding, "We will make every effort to improve residents' quality of life by creating a conflict-free coexistence and pleasant environment in the local community."
Meanwhile, this year the city secured a total project budget of 3 billion KRW by being selected for the Livestock Odor Improvement Project competition and is promoting projects such as three purification discharge facilities, ten washing water purification treatment facilities, seven odor reduction facilities, and ten composting facilities.
