Jeonnam Province Hosts '2021 Local Tax Collection Rate Improvement' Evaluation, Awarded Top Prize and 50 Million Won Prize Money
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do was honored as the best institution in the '2021 Local Tax Collection Rate Improvement' evaluation hosted by Jeollanam-do.
According to the county on the 15th, this selection as the best institution marks the fourth consecutive year of being recognized as an excellent institution, receiving an institutional commendation along with a prize of 50 million won.
This evaluation, conducted by Jeollanam-do targeting 22 cities and counties, was based on three indicators: local tax collection rate, collection scale, and collection rate compared to the previous year.
In particular, the county imposed local taxes amounting to 43.9 billion won last year and collected 42.9 billion won with a collection rate of 97.7%, earning high marks in the collection rate category.
The county's high collection rate is attributed to proactive collection activities such as customized delinquent tax disposition based on individual delinquency analysis.
For negligent delinquent taxpayers, the county enforced strong sanctions such as property seizure and public auction, while for livelihood-type delinquent taxpayers, it promoted installment payments through tailored collection policies.
