[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Eugene Corporation announced on the 14th that it will strengthen its quarantine response as the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases rapidly increases due to the spread of the Omicron variant.
To ensure the health of its employees and prevent COVID-19, Eugene Corporation has established its own quarantine guidelines that are one step stricter than the special Omicron quarantine measures recently recommended by the government and notified them to its executives and staff.
Currently, Eugene Corporation is implementing a separate response manual that includes key measures such as ▲dispersed work and flexible work hours at headquarters ▲prohibition of group training and events ▲ban on face-to-face meetings of five or more people (video meetings recommended even for fewer than five) ▲minimizing client meetings and prohibiting private contact ▲and banning company dinners.
According to the strengthened quarantine guidelines, cohabitants of COVID-19 confirmed cases must work from home during the passive monitoring period even if they have completed vaccination, and can return to work only after testing negative on a PCR test following the end of passive monitoring. Additionally, if an employee has had close contact with a COVID-19 confirmed person who is not a cohabitant, rapid antigen testing is required and working from home for seven days is recommended.
To prevent COVID-19 and its spread, paid vaccine leave is provided for two days?the day of and the day after the third vaccination. Furthermore, to support a safe working environment for employees, self-test kits, masks, and hand sanitizers are always available.
The proportion of remote work at headquarters is maintained at a minimum of 30%, prioritizing employees who need care such as pregnant women, employees with young children, or elderly family members. In addition, staggered commuting hours to avoid crowded public transportation continue to be implemented as part of the comprehensive COVID-19 prevention efforts.
