Goheung-gun Holds 2023 National Treasury Proposal Key Strategic Projects Report Meeting
Total Project Cost of 1.6 Trillion Won with a Goal to Secure 148 Billion Won in National Funds Next Year
Governor Song: Securing National Funds Directly Linked to Regional Development and Citizen Happiness Realization
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, has embarked on discovering key strategic projects for the 2023 national treasury requests aimed at job creation, high citizen impact, and securing new regional growth engines.
According to the county, on the 11th, a ‘2023 National Treasury Support Request Project Final Report Meeting’ was held at Heungyang Hall in the county office, presided over by County Governor Song Gwi-geun, with all department heads in attendance.
The meeting proceeded with detailed reports and discussions on funding plans for newly discovered and ongoing pending projects identified by each department.
The 2023 national treasury request projects discovered by Goheung-gun total 123 cases (75 new, 48 ongoing) with a total project cost of 1.6133 trillion KRW.
Among these, the goal for next year is to secure 148 billion KRW in national and provincial funds, with the remainder planned to be secured annually in phases.
Additionally, the county plans to exert all administrative efforts throughout the year to secure more national and provincial budgets through various contest project applications and continuous new national treasury request projects.
The new projects for next year discovered by Goheung-gun were focused on projects that align with government and Jeollanam-do policy directions and maximize regional advantages.
Major new projects include ▲Creation of a Space Education Theme Park (45.9 billion KRW) ▲Major repair of the Doyang-eup municipal solid waste incineration facility (11 billion KRW) ▲Creation of the Geumgangjukbong Ecological Trail (7 billion KRW) ▲Construction of the Bukchon Wharf at Nokdong Port (12 billion KRW) ▲Modernization of aging water purification plants (29.5 billion KRW) ▲Creation of Nokdong New Port Marine Sports Park (4 billion KRW), among others.
Ongoing projects include ▲Opening of Yeongnam Yongam Skywalk (3 billion KRW) ▲Operation of Smart Farm Innovation Valley and support for demonstration research services (17.9 billion KRW) ▲Development of rural living water by district (65 billion KRW) ▲Installation of a shared discharge facility for processing water for dried seaweed (6.5 billion KRW), etc.
In particular, for all new projects, Goheung-gun plans to concretize project details through consultations and advice from specialized institutions to develop meticulous persuasive arguments before requesting government budgets and to promptly carry out necessary preliminary administrative procedures.
Furthermore, starting in March, in accordance with the statutory schedule for government budget formulation, all employees led by the county governor will devote their full efforts to securing national treasury funds for inclusion in the government budget.
Governor Song Gwi-geun, who presided over the meeting, stated, “Please put more thought and effort into discovering new national treasury request projects for the quality of life and convenience of our citizens,” and added, “Securing national funds is a very important resource directly linked to regional development and the realization of citizen happiness.”
