Gwangyang-si Accelerates 'Disabled Sports Class Voucher Support Project'
Support for Tuition Fees in Various Sports Disciplines
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced that it will carry out the ‘Disabled Sports Lecture Voucher Support Project’ to improve the quality of life and promote the health of low-income disabled persons.
The support targets are disabled youth and adults aged 19 to 64 (‘58~’03 birth years), who are non-low-income disabled persons (income regardless, with priority support for low-income groups). It supports the tuition fees for disabled sports lectures for more than 10 months annually within the range of 85,000 KRW per month per person (multiple lectures allowed).
Existing users will receive support for sports lecture tuition fees from February, and new users from March, at sports lecture facilities registered in the region (such as Taekwondo, Judo, Kendo, Yoga, Boxing, Swimming, Badminton, etc.).
However, if there is no usage record for more than two months without special reasons, or if usage performance is poor, usage may be suspended or terminated, so active participation from users is required.
Those who have not yet applied can currently apply additionally by visiting the local town or township office in charge of their address.
Jo Young-jin, Director of the Sports Division, said, “The ‘Disabled Sports Lecture Voucher’ support project is a program that relieves the economic burden of all disabled persons by abolishing income requirements, so we will actively promote it to expand sports participation opportunities for youth and children in areas lacking facilities.”
