KMI Korea Medical Institute Supports 'Free Health Checkups' for Vulnerable Groups in Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] KMI Korea Medical Institute announced on the 10th that it will provide free health checkups to 180 vulnerable individuals in Seoul who find it difficult to undergo health screenings due to economic and physical reasons.
On the 8th, KMI held a 'Health Checkup Service Support Agreement Ceremony for Vulnerable Groups in Seoul' with the Seoul Welfare Foundation (CEO Kim Sang-chul). This social contribution project was promoted as part of efforts to coexist with the Seoul community where KMI’s three screening centers (Gwanghwamun, Yeouido, Gangnam) are located, and to fulfill its social responsibility as a health screening institution dedicated to improving public health.
The support targets a total of 180 people, including 100 young people enrolled in the Seoul Hope Double Youth Account, 50 residents with disabilities living independently, and 30 children who have aged out of protective care within Seoul. In addition to the national health screening items, KMI will provide free tests (worth 500,000 KRW per person) for additional screening items that incur extra costs, helping vulnerable groups maintain their health and prevent diseases.
Kim Soon-yi, Chairperson of KMI Korea Medical Institute, said, "We are providing free screenings again this year to help improve the health and medical welfare of vulnerable groups within Seoul." She added, "We will continue to carry out health love sharing social contribution activities for marginalized neighbors."
