Measures Taken to Easily Limit Tesla Vehicle's Maximum Driving Speed
[Asia Economy Reporter Sim Nayoung] It was recently revealed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk comforted a father who lost his teenage son in a Tesla vehicle crash fire accident through an email.
On May 8, 2018, in Florida, USA, Barrett Riley died after crashing his father's Tesla Model S into a concrete wall of a house at a speed of about 187 km/h. A day later, Musk sent a direct email to James Riley, the father of the deceased driver, expressing his condolences.
In the email, Musk mentioned the death of his own son at just 10 weeks old, saying, "There is nothing more painful than losing a child," and "My first son also died in my arms. I felt his heart stop." Musk also accepted Riley's request to allow parents to easily limit the maximum driving speed of Tesla vehicles.
