Support for Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products from Pregnancy to Childbirth
Geumcheon-gu to Support 330 Pregnant Women with Eco-Friendly Agricultural Product Packages Worth 480,000 KRW for One Year... Applications Open from 10 AM on February 8 at Pregnant Women Eco-Friendly Agricultural Product Shopping Mall
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will support 330 pregnant women with eco-friendly agricultural product packages worth 480,000 KRW per person annually (including a personal payment of 96,000 KRW).
The "Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Package Support Project for Pregnant Women" started in 2020 to provide healthy eco-friendly food to pregnant women and secure sales channels for farms facing difficulties in distribution and sales. This year marks its third year.
The program targets pregnant women confirmed to be pregnant or have given birth after January 1, 2021, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 a.m. on February 8 through the eco-friendly agricultural product shopping mall for pregnant women.
Those who have been issued a National Happiness Card (issued when applying for pregnancy and childbirth medical expenses) can apply without submitting documents by verifying their mobile phone. However, those without a National Happiness Card must attach a "Resident Registration Certificate (proof of residence for foreigners)" and "Pregnancy/Childbirth verification documents" when applying online, so it is convenient to prepare these files in advance.
Disabled persons and foreigners who have difficulty applying online can visit the Geumcheon-gu Office Park and Greenery Division to submit the application form and required documents.
The "Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Package for Pregnant Women" consists of fresh agricultural products certified as eco-friendly, some livestock products, and organic processed foods. There are two types: a "selective package," where pregnant women add needed items to their shopping cart and order, and a "pre-made package," where pregnant women can choose from pre-assembled packages considering price and items.
Applicants can select products worth between 30,000 KRW and 100,000 KRW per order, up to four times per month (16 times annually), on the designated online shopping mall, pay 20% of the cost themselves, and have the products delivered to their desired location.
Applicants currently receiving similar support (Nutrition Plus Project) or those who gave up participation in the 2021 project are restricted from eligibility.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We launched the 'Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Package Support Project for Pregnant Women' to promote the health of pregnant women and open sales channels for farms struggling due to COVID-19," adding, "We will continue to strive to create an environment conducive to childbirth and child-rearing."
