Cracks Found in Building of 'Gwangju Collapse Accident'... "Different from Collapse Location"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] It has been confirmed that cracks were discovered just before the collapse accident at Hwajeong I-Park in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
According to the police on the 22nd, cracks were found 40 minutes to 1 hour before the collapse accident occurred on the afternoon of the 11th at the construction site of Building 201, Hwajeong I-Park, Hwajeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju.
The cracks were hairline fractures shorter than an adult finger, and it is known that the on-site worker reported this to the construction company, HDC Hyundai Development Company.
The location where the cracks were found was reported to be the joint connecting the RCS form (an automated method that hydraulically lifts the formwork for concrete pouring) and the wall.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the police are currently verifying the facts.

The police believe that the cracks are minor and differ from the collapse location, so the direct connection is unlikely. However, they plan to further investigate whether prior reports of the cracks and safety measures for on-site workers were implemented.
