COVID-19 972 Cases Confirmed in Seoul by 6 PM... 130 Fewer Than Yesterday
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] From midnight to 6 p.m. on Friday the 31st, the number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 972 over 18 hours.
According to Seoul City on that day, compared to the same time frame, the number decreased by 130 from 1,102 on the previous day (the 30th) and by 304 from 1,276 a week earlier (the 24th). The total number of cases for the entire day was 1,670 on the 30th and 2,123 on the 24th.
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul exceeded 2,000 on the 30th of last month (2,222 cases), and on the 14th of this month, it reached 3,166 cases, marking the first time over 3,000 and setting an all-time high record.
Since then, with strengthened social distancing measures, the number has remained in the 1,000 range for six consecutive days starting from Christmas, the 25th.
As of 6 p.m. on the 31st, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 226,207.
