[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 31st that the Gamaksan Wind Power Complex was selected as one of the TOP 9 travel destinations that received the most 'likes' this year in the Korea Tourism Organization's 2021 Trend Report 'This Year's Travel Destinations That Shined on Instagram.'
According to Geochang-gun, the Korea Tourism Organization selected nine travel destinations that received the most 'likes' in 2021 from posts on SNS excluding events and videos posted from January to November this year.
The Gamaksan Wind Power Complex in Geochang was the only place in Gyeongnam to receive the highest attention nationwide. It ranked highest among autumn flower travel destinations.
Geochang-gun is developing a wellness experience center on the 900m-high Gamaksan plateau, designated as the nation's first Anti-Aging Healing Special Zone by the government in 2016 with the theme of Anti-Aging.
In the northern border area adjacent to Muju-gun, a forest leisure park including the Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center, a mountain coaster for families, and a family camping site will be fully operated starting next year.
Also, in the south where Gamaksan is located, the Changpoweon Ecological Park, spanning 300,000 pyeong along the Hwanggang riverside, is being developed with the goal of becoming a national garden.
