[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] On the 31st, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that Kim Saeng-su, CEO of Honam Ascon Industry Co., Ltd. located in Hyeonggyeong-myeon, donated 5 million won to the Muan-gun Seungdal Scholarship Foundation to be used as a scholarship fund for nurturing local talents on the 28th.

CEO Kim, who has always been interested in education, started donating to the Seungdal Scholarship in 2016, and the total accumulated donation amount has reached 35 million won as of this year.

He is also a lifelong learner with a strong passion for academics, having challenged himself to obtain a degree at the late age of 50 and earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Chosun University after eight years.

At the donation ceremony, CEO Kim said, “My small personal goal is to donate to the Seungdal Scholarship every year until the day I close my business. Although the amount donated this year was not large due to the poor economic conditions caused by COVID-19, I hope the scholarship will contribute to nurturing local talents.”

Following his policy of returning corporate profits to the local community, CEO Kim has also been leading welfare projects for local residents since 2018, including supporting the Senior Citizens Association and providing supplies to the Muan Sports Council for fostering local sports talents.

Governor Kim San said, “Despite difficult circumstances, there are people who consistently make donations, which allows the Seungdal Scholarship Foundation to operate soundly. The donated funds will be used valuably as scholarships for local youth,” expressing his gratitude.
