Gochang-gun Secures 166.1 Billion KRW in National Budget for Next Year... Record High

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun has secured 166.1 billion won in national funding for next year, signaling a green light for its leap as a hub for agricultural life and food, as well as historical and cultural tourism.

According to the county on the 31st, by being additionally selected for year-end central government department public projects such as the Gushipo Port Ocean New Deal project, it secured about 166.1 billion won for 154 projects in next year's national budget (total project cost basis: 2.0568 trillion won).

This represents a 13.3% increase, exceeding the government budget and Jeonbuk Province growth rates (government 8.9% / Jeonbuk 8.1%).

Budgets for 64 new projects were also reflected, raising expectations for momentum in advancing various pending issues and policy projects in Gochang-gun next year.

In particular, the Gushipo Port Ocean New Deal project, with a total project cost of 7 billion won, is expected to be developed as a leading eco-friendly carbon-neutral model hub by establishing infrastructure for carbon neutrality, such as the distribution of renewable energy and installation of greenhouse gas emission reduction facilities around the Gushipo national fishing port area.

Additionally, cultural heritage restoration projects such as the Seundangam stone wall maintenance project at Seonunsa Temple and the repair and maintenance project around the Jujachang at Munsusa Temple were also additionally secured, which is expected to greatly contribute to improving the historical and cultural environment.

County Governor Yoo Gi-sang said, “Since this is a national budget that contains everyone's efforts, we will carefully oversee the project implementation process and devote all our energy to improving the quality of life of residents and creating a happy Gochang-gun.”
