[Changes in 2022] Strengthening Management of Mental Illness Patients... Information Sharing for Probationers
Changes in 2022
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] From January 21, 2022, information sharing on mentally ill probation subjects among probation offices, police, and local governments will be implemented.
On the 31st, the government published a guide titled 'Changes Starting from 2022' containing this information.
Previously, through amendments to the Act on Probation, provisions were established allowing information on mentally ill subjects whose probation has ended to be notified to police stations and local governments.
Regardless of mental illness status, when a probation subject's probation ends, they are no longer under the supervision of a probation officer. Because of this, there was a problem where subjects whose probation ended arbitrarily stopped treatment, and continuous treatment management was not properly conducted.
