Namwon-si Receives Consecutive Awards in Various Evaluations Including Local Economy, Agriculture, and Education

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] Namwon City in Jeonbuk is achieving remarkable awards in various evaluations such as administrative innovation, local economy, agriculture, education, and welfare throughout this year to realize "Happy Citizens, Greater Namwon."

According to the city on the 30th, through responses to evaluations by central government ministries and external organizations this year, it won 1 Presidential Award, 7 Prime Minister and Minister Awards, 20 Excellence Awards, totaling 66 awards, securing 1.83 billion KRW in financial incentives.

This can be seen as external objective recognition of the city's administrative performance.

This is the highest record ever, increasing by 11 awards and more than 610 million KRW compared to last year, and with some evaluation results yet to be announced, it is expected to achieve remarkable results in even more fields.

Major awards received by the city include ▲ the 2021 Local Finance Best Practice Evaluation where it won the ‘Presidential Award’ securing an additional 500 million KRW in general grants, ▲ the ‘Prime Minister’s Award’ for being selected as an Excellent Institution in the National Happiness Civil Service Office, ▲ the ‘Excellence Award’ in the Joint Local Government Evaluation (4 consecutive years) with 55 million KRW, and ▲ the ‘Excellence Award’ in the Agricultural Machinery Rental Business Evaluation (5 consecutive years) securing 2 billion KRW in incentives.

It also received awards such as ▲ 7 consecutive years of awards in the Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation, ▲ 2 consecutive years of ‘Excellence Institution Minister Award’ in the Cadastral Resurvey Project Performance Evaluation, ▲ ‘Excellence’ in the Rapid Financial Execution Evaluation (180 million KRW incentive), and ▲ ‘Excellence’ in the Local Tax Collection Performance Evaluation (42 million KRW).

Additionally, it was honored with ▲ ‘Excellence’ in the Agricultural Products Specialized Production Complex Evaluation (70 million KRW), ▲ ‘Excellence’ in the Integrated Marketing Operation Performance Evaluation (100 million KRW), and an A grade in the Comprehensive Horticultural Industry Evaluation, receiving recognition across overall city administration evaluations.

In particular, through awards in the Mountain Area Distribution Comprehensive Evaluation and the Comprehensive Horticultural Industry Evaluation, the city received 16.8 billion KRW in interest-free funds to revitalize mountain area distribution, enabling more benefits for local farmers.

The background for the city’s excellent achievements lies in actively setting evaluation response goals from the beginning of the year, checking progress under the mayor’s leadership, and the dedicated efforts of all employees for performance management.
