Guri City Signs Operation Agreement for Subway Line 8 Extension 'Byeollae Line'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Guri City in Gyeonggi Province has signed an agreement with related organizations for the operation of the extension of Subway Line 8, the Byeollae Line.
According to the city on the 29th, ▲stable and systematic preparation for the opening of the Byeollae Line ▲creation of local jobs and improvement of citizens' transportation welfare ▲enhancement of the operational competitiveness of the Byeollae Line will be achieved through collaboration with related organizations in the railway operation sector.
An Seung-nam, mayor of Guri City, said, "With the completion of the Byeollae Line in 2023 and the GTX-B, promoted by Guri City, stopping at Galmae Station, Guri City will make a significant leap as a true road and railway hub city."
Earlier, on the 27th, the city signed a cooperation agreement for the preparation and mutual development of the Byeollae Line operation with Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation and Guri Urban Corporation.
Meanwhile, the Byeollae Line is an extension of Subway Line 8, a metropolitan railway connecting Seoul (Amsa) to Guri City and Namyangju Byeollae, scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2023.

The total length is planned to be 12.9 km with 6 stations, and 3 stations will be constructed in the 8 km section within Guri City. After completion, Seoul Special City, Guri City, and Namyangju City will each own and operate their respective sections.
