Jangseong-gun Selected as 'Outstanding Local Government' for Family Center SOC Best Practices...The Only One in Jeonnam

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] The 'Family Center' being constructed in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, has proven its excellence in a nationwide competition.

The county announced on the 29th that it was selected as an excellent local government in the '2021 Family Center SOC Best Practice Contest' conducted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Korea Healthy Family Promotion Agency, targeting 92 cities, counties, and districts nationwide that are building family centers.

It is the only award record in Jeollanam-do.

The county received balanced scores in the appropriateness of space composition, universal design (UD) plan safety, and validity of operation plans, and was highly evaluated for the excellence of internal space composition and external design.

The Jangseong-gun Family Center is a multipurpose welfare hall consisting of the Healthy Family Multicultural Support Center, Together Care Center, Women's Hall, Women's New Work Center, and Dream Start, and is being constructed with one basement floor and three above-ground floors.

With a total floor area of 2,957㎡, the project cost is 10.2 billion KRW including national funds (1.5 billion KRW national, 8.7 billion KRW county), and the completion is expected around 2023.

After completion, it will provide services for all life stages from infants to the elderly, as well as family services for various types such as single-parent and multicultural families.

Education, communication, counseling, and leisure activities utilizing the family center space are also expected to be actively conducted.

County Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, "We will strengthen the county's welfare capacity centered on the Family Center and complete Yellow City Jangseong, where all residents live happily and well."
