Jeongeup-si Promotes 'New Technology Demonstration Project in Rural Development'

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 29th that it will promote the 2022 rural development new technology pilot project targeting leading farmers in the region to support the development of local agriculture and increase farmers' income.

Next year's rural development new technology pilot project will consist of a total of 63 projects, with a project budget of 4.7 billion KRW including self-contributions.

The main projects include the leading agricultural management entity excellent modeling project, support for nurturing next-generation farmers incorporating new technologies, dissemination of export standardization technology for horticultural specialty crops, pilot expansion of orchard damage prevention technology responding to abnormal weather, and pilot technology for post-harvest management of medicinal crops.

The application deadline for the project is January 21 of next year.

Applications can be submitted by receiving the application form from the local town, township, or neighborhood office or from the Jeongeup Agricultural Technology Center website, filling it out, and submitting it along with related documents to the local town, township, or neighborhood office.

Eligible pilot project applicants must be farmers residing in the region, have no arrears in local taxes or non-tax revenues, and the planned project site and buildings must not be under collateral.

Additionally, applicants must not have had any subsidy decisions canceled due to improper receipt of local subsidies within the past five years.

A city official stated, “Since we have discovered various pilot projects for agricultural and rural development next year, we ask that qualified farmers show great interest and apply so that the pilot projects can be successfully carried out.”
