Shinsegae Myeon Busan Branch, Hope Delivery Campaign... Cultural Benefits and Scholarships Support for Underprivileged Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Shinsegae Duty Free Busan Branch announced on the 28th that it conducted scholarship and cultural sharing events for local youth using funds collected over the past year.
Shinsegae Duty Free explained, "Employees of the Busan branch voluntarily donated approximately 5.4 million KRW collected through the salary-sharing program 'Hope Delivery Campaign' for the benefit of local community youth."
Through this, in collaboration with the Busan Cultural Center, a year-end cultural sharing event was held for socially marginalized youth and disadvantaged groups in the local community. On the 23rd and 24th, admission fees were supported so that about 95 local vulnerable youth and people with disabilities could attend performances at the Busan Cultural Center Grand Theater.
Since 2018, Shinsegae Duty Free Busan Branch has supported living expenses and scholarships for disadvantaged youth in Haeundae-gu using funds raised through the Hope Delivery Campaign. This year, in cooperation with the Busan Community Chest of Korea, it donated scholarships worth approximately 2 million KRW to ensure students in educational blind spots have sufficient learning opportunities.

Meanwhile, in May, Shinsegae Duty Free Busan Branch collaborated with the Together Foundation to donate eco-friendly jump ropes to local children's centers. About 78 employees of the Busan branch participated in assembling the eco-friendly upcycled jump ropes and delivered them to the centers, using approximately 1.3 million KRW in donations.
