Mokpo City Receives Presidential Award for Excellence in Basic Livelihood Security Sector
Recognition of Efforts to Discover New Beneficiaries and Address Welfare Blind Spots
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that it received the Presidential Award in the '2021 Basic Livelihood Security Sector Excellent Local Government Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
As a result of a comprehensive evaluation of the 2021 joint evaluation of the basic livelihood security sector targeting local governments nationwide, including the rate of discovering new beneficiaries and efforts, project execution performance, and identification of welfare blind spots, Mokpo City was selected as the top excellent local government among 31 outstanding local governments nationwide, receiving the Presidential Institutional Commendation and a prize of 40 million KRW.
Mokpo was recognized for its efforts in discovering new beneficiaries and resolving welfare blind spots in the basic livelihood security sector project evaluation.
In addition, through regular monthly deliberations of the Local Livelihood Security Committee, Mokpo supports 213 vulnerable households struggling due to family relationship breakdowns caused by refusal or avoidance of support by obligated supporters, and was highly evaluated for discovering 2,761 cases of households eligible for emergency support among crisis households and welfare blind spots.
