Ministry of Culture and Gangneung City Open 'Dreaming Saimdang Art Center'
Renovation of Old Gyeongpo Elementary School Building... Dedicated Facility for Cultural and Arts Education
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Gangneung City will open the 'Dreaming Saimdang Art Center' at 2 p.m. on the 27th. It is a dedicated facility for cultural and artistic education. The old Gyeongpo Elementary School building was renovated over about two years to create a space where local residents can enjoy the benefits of cultural and artistic education. It includes convergence and complex creative art education 'In', art convergence 'Ui', one-person media creation activities 'Ye', architectural education 'Ji', and 3D printer and woodworking production 'Sin'. Gangneung City signed a business agreement with the Gangwon-do Gangneung Office of Education to provide efficient cultural and artistic education. They will support transportation in cooperation with multiple schools and promote experiential education based on visual arts for elementary and secondary students as well as convergence and complex cultural and artistic education programs. Kim Hyun-hwan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "We hope this will revitalize the local cultural and artistic education ecosystem, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic."
