At the event, Shin Sung-bin, Head of Marketing at Lotte Homeshopping, Shim Young-shin, Head of Culture and Sports at Seoul Facilities Corporation, Lee Mi-kyung, CEO of the Environmental Foundation, and other officials attended, and a lighting ceremony was held to commemorate the completion.
Lotte Homeshopping is conducting the urban green space creation project 'Sum;Pyeonhan Forest' to reduce fine dust. Following the Yeoui Saetgang Ecological Park in April and the traffic island near Eunpyeong-gu Office in June, the third site was completed at Seoul Children's Grand Park. Approximately 1,000㎡ in area, a total of 1,000 trees were planted, and walking paths and other facilities were created to provide a resting place. A sculpture representing a clean Earth was made and installed using over 30,000 discarded PET bottle caps. This aims to convey a message of environmental protection participation and will also be used as landscape lighting.
In December last year, Lotte Homeshopping signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Foundation for 'Protection of Vulnerable Groups from Fine Dust and Response to the Climate Crisis.' Accordingly, the 'Sum;Pyeonhan Forest' project is underway to plant trees in fine dust intensive management zones and provide citizen convenience facilities by 2025. In June, through the flagship living program 'Choi Yura Show,' an eco-friendly campaign was conducted where one tree was automatically donated for each order placed during the broadcast, resulting in the donation of more than 10,000 trees. Additionally, various activities to improve environmental issues, such as introducing eco-friendly packaging and upcycling waste fibers, have been carried out, and on the 16th, the company obtained the international environmental management standard 'ISO14001' certification.
