Imsil-gun Confirms Next Year's Budget at 511.7 Billion KRW... Momentum for Ongoing Projects Maintained
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk (Governor Shim Min) announced on the 21st that the next year's budget of 511.7 billion KRW, focused on strengthening agricultural competitiveness and promoting customized welfare, has been finally approved through the county council's resolution.
This amount is an increase of 57.4 billion KRW (12.64%) compared to this year's main budget of 454.3 billion KRW.
By account type, the general account increased by 13.59% from this year to 484.3 billion KRW, while other special accounts decreased by 0.5 billion KRW to 27.4 billion KRW.
The county will enter the era of a 500 billion KRW budget for the first time in history based on the main budget.
Despite the difficult conditions due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, active efforts to secure the budget resulted in an increase of 29.3 billion KRW in national and provincial subsidies compared to the previous year, which greatly contributed to opening the era of a 500 billion KRW budget.
By sector, the budget is allocated as follows: agriculture, forestry, marine and fisheries sector 112.6 billion KRW (22%), social welfare sector 89.1 billion KRW (17.41%), environment sector 66.0 billion KRW (12.89%), land and regional development sector 59.7 billion KRW (11.66%), and culture and tourism sector 42.2 billion KRW (8.24%).
Emphasis was placed on meticulous budget allocation across various fields including strengthening agricultural competitiveness, promoting customized welfare, building regional development infrastructure, and enhancing cultural and tourism capabilities.
Major investment projects include efforts to open the era of 10 million tourists through the establishment of a premium tourism belt: ▲ 0.5 billion KRW for the construction of Bung-eo Island suspension bridge ▲ 5.0 billion KRW for the 2nd phase of Seomjingang Eco Museum ▲ 1.4 billion KRW for the construction of Imsil Cheese History and Culture Center ▲ 4.0 billion KRW for the construction of a pet support center ▲ 1.9 billion KRW for the creation of Seongsusan Taejo Hope Forest.
To ensure all residents can enjoy a vibrant and dignified life, budgets were allocated for ▲ 6.2 billion KRW for the construction of Imsil-eup and Osu-myeon Happiness Nuri Centers ▲ 1.0 billion KRW for the construction of the county comprehensive gymnasium ▲ 4.0 billion KRW for reinforcing the functions of the youth training center.
Additionally, for the healthy and safe lives of residents, budgets were allocated for ▲ 6.2 billion KRW for the comprehensive maintenance project of flood and water disaster living zones in Imsil and Osu ▲ 8.2 billion KRW for the modernization and maintenance of aging water supply networks ▲ 1.0 billion KRW for the installation of unmanned traffic enforcement cameras and signal devices in child protection zones.
To build a warm community together and realize customized welfare, budgets were carefully allocated for expanding senior citizen jobs, providing bath coupons and supporting meal helpers at senior centers, supporting agricultural village communal meals, and providing childbirth encouragement funds.
Governor Shim Min stated, “We have allocated a significant budget to life-centered projects so that residents can tangibly feel the era of a 500 billion KRW budget. We will steadfastly carry out county administration so that the implementation of projects in each sector creates synergy effects, bringing greater benefits to our residents.”
