Samsung Bioepis Publishes First Sustainability Management Report
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jung] Samsung Bioepis (CEO Go Han-seung) published its first-ever sustainability management report on the 21st and made it available on its website.
This report aims to disclose transparent management performance and strengthen communication, covering ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance)-centered sustainability management activities, achievements, and plans.
Through this report, Samsung Bioepis conducted a materiality assessment for sustainability management and selected key issues such as ▲sustainable supply chain selection and evaluation ▲strengthening product responsibility and safety ▲enhancing environmental management.
In the area of supply chain selection and evaluation, pharmaceutical contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) certified with international standards (ISO) were selected, and product responsibility and safety were strengthened through the establishment of a global-level research and development platform and quality management system.
From an environmental management perspective, energy-efficient electrical machinery and equipment are being used at business sites and research facilities, and efforts will be made to introduce eco-friendly packaging and other product eco-friendly measures. The report also includes content on human rights protection, social contribution, and ethical and compliance management. By establishing a dedicated ESG organization, the company plans to transparently disclose its performance and reflect the opinions of various stakeholders in its management activities.
