LG Electronics plans to expand the launch of LG StanbyMe starting with Hong Kong this month, followed by Singapore and Vietnam in January next year. In Vietnam, pre-orders are being conducted through LG Electronics' online brand shop.
Ahead of the full-scale overseas launch, LG Electronics recently increased production volume at its TV production line located in Gumi, Gyeongbuk. The monthly production volume of LG StanbyMe has nearly tripled compared to the initial launch period. All LG StanbyMe units are manufactured at the Gumi production line.
LG Electronics has also started a software update that supports Apple AirPlay functionality, which syncs with iOS-based devices. The update is expected to be completed within this week. Recently, the company has been continuously expanding services and content, including launching Kakao Entertainment's webtoon platform, Kakao Webtoon.
A new voice guidance feature has been added to enhance accessibility for visually impaired users. When this feature is activated, it provides voice feedback about the operation status and brief explanations of the apps selected by the customer when using the remote control. When connected to a PC via Miracast, vertical screen mode is also available.
