[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Electronics announced on the 21st that its guide robot, LG CLOi GuideBot, will provide visitor guidance services at Busan's tallest observatory, Busan X the Sky.
The LG CLOi GuideBot is deployed with one unit each in the 1st-floor lobby of the LCT building, where the observatory is located, and on the 100th-floor observatory, guiding visitors to major attractions and convenience facilities until January 6 next year.
When customers search for restaurants on the robot's touchscreen, it provides information on location, route, and estimated time via screen and voice, and also offers a destination accompaniment service to guide visitors directly. For customers who want to take commemorative photos, the robot takes pictures and sends them via text message.
LG Electronics unveiled the LG CLOi GuideBot last September, featuring multifunctional capabilities including visitor guidance, advertising, security, and docent services. Equipped with 27-inch displays on both the front and rear, it acts as a personalized advertising board that approaches customers, and through its camera, it performs security tasks such as detecting entrants during late-night hours.
LG Electronics provides customers who adopt the LG CLOi GuideBot with an integrated control system and continuous maintenance services. The 'Robot Integrated Control System (LG CLOi Cloud Station)' offers comprehensive solutions necessary for system operation, including real-time robot monitoring and remote control, as well as management of various information, content, schedules, and statistics.
LG Electronics positions robots as a key pillar of its future business and offers customized solutions optimized for various spaces such as hotels, hospitals, and F&B (food and beverage). Since operating CLOi guide robots at Incheon Airport in 2017, it has introduced LG CLOi UV-C Bot, LG CLOi Sub Bot, LG CLOi Barista Bot, and others. Since last year, it has accelerated its robot business by leveraging the global sales infrastructure and capabilities of the Business Solutions (BS) division.
