[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it will conduct the '2021 K-MAS Live Market Real-time Broadcast Sales (Live Commerce)' to support small business owners struggling due to the resurgence of COVID-19, selling excellent small business products at up to 50% discounted prices.
The live commerce event, themed 'Christmas Special Gifts' and 'Warm Winter,' will sell over 150 outstanding small business products and will be simultaneously broadcast on nine private channels including Wemakeprice and TMON, as well as the Gachisapsida platform.
The products for sale consist of 'National Santa' products selected by public online voting and items recommended by private experts. Representative products include 'Christmas trees,' popular children's gifts such as 'toys (Dino Track),' and 'Jeju tangerines.' During the event period, in addition to product price discounts, a raffle event will be held for purchasers on the Gachisapsida platform.
On the 22nd, Minister Kwon Chil-seung of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will appear on the live commerce broadcast to introduce meal kit products (instant tteokbokki) under the home party concept, considering the difficulty of outdoor activities due to COVID-19, allowing people to enjoy Christmas at home.
This product is a National Santa product selected by public online voting and is a meal kit version of instant tteokbokki from a restaurant famous for its taste, now entering the online market.
Famous influencers will also participate in the live commerce to actively support small business owners. Comedian Onami, comedians Yoo Min-sang and Kwon Hyuk-soo will appear, cooking and introducing products such as tomahawk steak (on the 21st), beef small intestines (on the 22nd), and pork ribs (on the 23rd). TikTok influencer 'Meoksuna,' with 12 million followers, will also support small business owners by performing a mukbang featuring '30-year traditional jokbal (pig's trotters).'
Additionally, 'On-site Live Commerce' will be conducted, visiting major tourist spots and product manufacturing sites to introduce products and deliver vivid on-site experiences online. The event will visit Gangwon Province to sell Jeongseon's specialty deodeok (on the 22nd), and in Pohang, known for seafood, will show the drying process of squid at a drying yard while selling 'semi-dried squid' (on the 23rd).
