Gwangju Seo-gu Supports Joint Living Families with Government Joint Evaluation Financial Incentives

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Seo Dae-seok) has allocated a budget of 30 million KRW from the autonomous district incentive amount according to the 2021 (’20 performance) government joint evaluation results to support the improvement of living environments in five group homes within the district.

According to Seo-gu on the 17th, the government joint evaluation is a system that comprehensively evaluates 17 metropolitan cities and provinces (including city, county, and district performance) annually to ensure efficiency, accountability, and effectiveness of major national policies.

Seo-gu achieved the top performance among local governments in Gwangju Metropolitan City in this government joint evaluation and secured a budget of 110 million KRW as a financial incentive.

The incentive amount will be used to improve living environments by providing equipment such as copiers, washing and drying machines, and refrigerators to five group homes (Rodemnamu Group Home, Seum Group Home, Don Bosco Nanum House, etc.) that raise children and adolescents in need of protection due to divorce, child abuse, domestic violence, and other circumstances.

Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “It is meaningful that the incentive amount granted as a result of the evaluation earned through the hard work of Seo-gu office employees over the year will be valuably used to support the improvement of living environments for local children,” adding, “Despite the difficult and challenging situation due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, I hope this will be a small help for children, the future leaders of society, to grow up bright and strong.”
