Air Force Sergeant Convicted of Sexual Harassment Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Sergeant Jang, who was accused of sexually harassing the late Air Force Sergeant Lee Ye-ram, was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
On the 17th, the Ministry of National Defense Ordinary Military Court announced that it had sentenced Air Force Sergeant Jang, who was detained and indicted on charges including forced sexual assault causing injury against a soldier.
Earlier, the military prosecution had requested a 15-year prison sentence for Sergeant Jang at the sentencing hearing held on October 8.
In early March, the late Sergeant Lee Ye-ram attended a company dinner and was sexually harassed by her senior, Sergeant Jang Mo (male), on her way back, after which she took her own life.
