Daejeon City and Daejeon Marketing Corporation announced on the 18th that the outdoor skating rink will operate from the 18th of this month until February 13th next year, providing a winter sports space.
The outdoor skating rink will feature an ice skating rink along with traditional sledding areas, curling experience zones, and a large Christmas tree (15 meters tall).
Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and it will be closed every Monday. The usage fee is 1,000 KRW per hour per session, and basic livelihood security recipients, registered disabled persons, and national merit recipients can use the outdoor skating rink free of charge.
Initially, the city and the marketing corporation planned an opening ceremony and celebratory performances, but these events were completely canceled considering the spread of COVID-19.
However, before the official opening, on the 17th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., citizens will be allowed to freely use the outdoor skating rink for free within the allowed range of quarantine rules.
At the site, the vaccine pass system will be applied, allowing entry only to those who have completed vaccination or have a valid PCR negative confirmation (within 48 hours after testing). The number of visitors will also be limited according to quarantine guidelines.
