[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] On the 17th, Jeonnam Muan-gun announced that on the 16th, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for Ecosalt Co., Ltd., the first tenant company of the Mongtan Specialized Agricultural and Industrial Complex.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Kim San, the governor of Muan-gun, Moon Geum-ju, Vice Governor of Jeonnam Province, professors Lee Jeong-rok, Kim Myung-jun, and Kim Young-gi from Chonnam National University, Park Hoe-cheol, Deputy Head of the Jeonnam Regional Management Support Department of Nonghyup, as well as Nonghyup officials and construction company executives.

Ecosalt Co., Ltd. is a company that received patented technology related to the production of solar salt from the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Chonnam National University and produces high-quality eco-friendly salt by removing microplastics from solar salt.

In April of this year, Ecosalt signed an investment agreement (MOU) with Jeonnam Province and Muan-gun, with a total investment of 4 billion KRW and a plan to create 18 jobs.

When the factory and research building are completed in June next year, Ecosalt Co., Ltd. is expected to expand its business area beyond simple solar salt production to food-related industries such as kimchi and salted seafood, establishing a foundation for high added value and contributing to revitalizing the local economy through overseas market development.

Governor Kim San said, "The greatest strength until today's groundbreaking ceremony was mutual trust, and the case of Ecosalt is expected to be a good model of industry-academia-government cooperation," adding, "We will spare no administrative support to ensure the success of the tenant company."
