Gurye-gun Enhances Residents' Happiness with Outreach Welfare Services
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Sunho) announced on the 15th that it is making every effort to enhance the welfare awareness of its residents through visiting welfare administrative services.
Since October 2019, Gurye-gun has been promoting the public-private cooperative Gurye-type visiting integrated health and welfare service project, "Happiness Sensation 100℃ Welfare Runs," touring about 90 villages once a week to guide and connect various welfare services within the jurisdiction, striving to discover welfare blind spots.
In addition, the Gurye-gun Community Security Council collaborated with the Gurye Regional Self-Support Center to deliver warm lunchboxes, carefully prepared every week at the Self-Support Center, to residents of remote villages and about 1,900 households in need of care.
The lunchboxes of love are not merely providing a single meal but represent a significant effort by the public and private sectors working together to check on residents and discover and care for vulnerable households in the region.
Thanks to these public-private efforts, 1,000 vulnerable people discovered received public support and services such as the Self-Support Center’s mobile laundry service, disinfection and sterilization services, visiting hairdressing services, and welfare task force daily life inconvenience relief services.
Kim Sunho, Governor of Gurye-gun, expressed gratitude for the hard work of the Gurye-gun Community Security Council, which has played a major role as a welfare guardian in the region, and the Self-Support Center, which has established itself as a reliable workplace for low-income groups, stating, “We will continue to build various public-private cooperative systems and do our best to discover and support welfare crisis households in need of care.”
