Gwangyang-si, Year-End and New Year Gathering and Travel Restraint Campaign
Appeal to Strengthen Awareness of Compliance with Quarantine Rules
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 14th that it conducted a quarantine participation campaign urging restraint in year-end and New Year travel and gatherings.
The campaign, participated by Vice Mayor Kim Kyung-ho, public officials, and various civil society groups, was carried out simultaneously under the slogan "We must stop the spread of COVID-19 here," enhancing promotional effectiveness.
Amid concerns over a surge in confirmed cases due to increased travel and gatherings during the year-end and New Year period, the campaign focused on encouraging citizens to actively participate in quarantine practices and vaccinations by emphasizing ▲restraining travel and gatherings ▲wearing masks ▲mandatory vaccination.
Vice Mayor Kim Kyung-ho stated, "Personal quarantine rules are more important than anything else to prevent the increase in confirmed cases caused by the emergence of the Omicron variant and breakthrough infections," and added, "If any abnormal symptoms occur, please get tested promptly at health center screening clinics and receive vaccinations and booster shots."
He continued, "Due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, it is difficult for citizens to maintain vigilance in quarantine, and the spread is progressing severely, so we planned this large-scale campaign," and appealed, "We hope all citizens will participate in overcoming the COVID-19 crisis by actively practicing personal quarantine, such as refraining from year-end and New Year gatherings and visits to other regions."
