[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 13th that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Energy Foundation (Chairman Kim Kwangsik) to promote ‘Energy Efficiency Improvement Projects and Joint Projects’ to eliminate energy welfare blind spots.
This agreement was prepared to improve the energy usage environment for vulnerable households suffering from climate change such as heat waves and cold spells.
According to the agreement, Buk-gu will identify 400 energy-vulnerable households annually from next year until 2024, and the Korea Energy Foundation will support up to 3 million KRW per household.
The project includes ▲replacement of high-efficiency boilers ▲insulation, window, and floor work ▲support for cooling devices (wall-mounted air conditioners, fans, cool mats) to improve heating and cooling efficiency and reduce energy costs.
In particular, besides the energy efficiency improvement project, Buk-gu plans to carry out home repairs such as wallpapering and flooring for households with poor living conditions as a joint project.
Moon In, head of Buk-gu Office, said, “I hope this project will help residents who have difficulties using energy,” and added, “We will continue to strive to improve the quality of life for vulnerable groups through housing welfare practices.”
