4564 COVID-19 Cases Nationwide by 9 PM... 917 Fewer Than Previous Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Amid the continued spread of COVID-19, confirmed cases surged again on Sunday, the 12th.
According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day, a total of 4,564 people tested positive for COVID-19 across 17 cities and provinces nationwide. This is 917 fewer than the nationwide total of 5,481 reported at 9 p.m. the previous day. Compared to 3,887 cases recorded at the same time a week ago on the 5th, it increased by 677.
New confirmed cases were 3,154 (69.1%) in the metropolitan area and 1,410 (30.9%) in non-metropolitan areas.

By city and province, Seoul reported 1,878 cases, Gyeonggi 886, Incheon 390, and Busan 235. Following were Chungnam and Gyeongnam with 178 each, Gyeongbuk 163, Daegu 146, Gangwon 98, Daejeon 78, Jeonnam 77, Jeonbuk 70, Chungbuk 65, Gwangju and Ulsan 37 each, Jeju 36, and Sejong 12. Confirmed cases were reported in all 17 cities and provinces.
