President Moon Arrives in Australia, Summit Meeting on the 13th

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in arrived in Canberra, the capital of Australia, on the afternoon of the 12th (local time).
President Moon is on a 3-night, 4-day state visit to Australia at the invitation of Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. This is the first time Australia has invited a foreign head of state since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Blue House expects that this visit to Australia will lead to cooperation in key mineral resources, defense industry, and the hydrogen economy.
On the 13th, President Moon will hold a summit with Prime Minister Morrison and conduct a joint press conference. On the 14th, he plans to meet with opposition party leaders in Sydney and hold a key mineral supply chain meeting with Australian business leaders. President Moon will return home on the 15th.
Meanwhile, at Canberra Airport where President Moon arrived, the Australian Governor-General’s Chief of Staff, Minister of Industry and Energy, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, and the Australian Ambassador to Korea welcomed him.
