Large-Scale COVID-19 Testing Site Installed at Mapo-gu World Cup Park Peace Plaza
Operating from 1 PM to 9 PM without holidays starting the 10th, rapid testing at 4 specimen rooms... Reducing disinfection time at public health center screening clinics, operating from 9 AM to 6 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) announced that it will respond to the surging demand for COVID-19 testing by installing an additional COVID-19 screening clinic at Peace Plaza in Sangam World Cup Park (243-48 World Cup-ro) and operating it from the 10th.
The newly installed screening clinic is located within about a 10-minute walk from Mapo-gu Office Station on Line 6 and World Cup Stadium, improving accessibility for citizens, and will operate daily from 1 PM to 9 PM without holidays.
As a result, in Mapo-gu, citizens can use a total of four screening clinics and testing sites: ▲Mapo-gu Public Health Center Screening Clinic ▲Sogang University Station Temporary Screening Clinic ▲Hongik Cultural Park Temporary Screening Clinic, and the newly established ▲Peace Plaza Temporary Screening Clinic.
A district official stated, “We installed the clinic in a spacious plaza of over 8,400㎡ located about a 10-minute walk from the existing Public Health Center Screening Clinic to disperse the waiting crowd at the health center and maintain safe distances between those waiting.” He added, “With electronic questionnaires using QR codes and rapid testing conducted in four specimen rooms, we expect waiting times for citizens to decrease even in cold weather.”
With the addition of this temporary screening clinic, the operating hours of the Mapo-gu Public Health Center Screening Clinic will change to weekdays from 9 AM to 6 PM (closed from 1 PM to 2 PM for disinfection), and on weekends and public holidays, it will operate from 9 AM to 1 PM without disinfection breaks.
The Sogang University Station Temporary Screening Clinic and Hongik Cultural Park Temporary Screening Clinic will remain available as before, operating weekdays from 9:30 AM to 5 PM, and Saturdays and public holidays from 9:30 AM to 1 PM. However, they will be closed for disinfection from 12 PM to 1 PM on weekdays.
