KCCI Hosts Case Study Contest on Qualification Exam Usage... 11 Winning Entries Selected

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) announced on the 10th that it held the 'Award Ceremony for the Qualification Exam Utilization Case Essay Contest' at the KCCI Hall on Sejong-daero.
This contest was organized to discover cases where qualification exams conducted by KCCI helped with employment or school admission, and to inform those preparing for employment or admission about ways to utilize certificates. This year, a total of 498 essays were submitted, with 11 winners in total: 2 grand prize winners, 3 excellence award winners, and 6 encouragement award winners.
At the award ceremony, Ms. Jeon Hyerin, who submitted an essay titled "Computer Utilization Ability Certificate, the Start of a Career and a Stepping Stone to Success," received the Minister of Employment and Labor Award (Grand Prize) along with a certificate and a prize of 1 million KRW. Ms. Jeon said, "After obtaining the Computer Utilization Ability certificate, the number of times my job application documents passed significantly increased," adding, "The certificate not only helped me succeed in employment but also gave me confidence in computer use in actual work."
The KCCI Chairman's Award (Grand Prize) went to Ms. Lee Seul, who wrote an essay titled "Flight Attendant Flying to the National Assembly," receiving a certificate and a prize of 1 million KRW. Ms. Lee shared, "I was laid off from an airline due to COVID-19, but thanks to my secretary and Computer Utilization Ability certificates, I was able to find reemployment."
The Excellence Awards were given to three recipients: Mr. Choi Minho (essay titled "Passing the Customs Broker Exam and How KCCI Certificates Helped in Practice"), Ms. Hwang Eunjeong (essay titled "Computer Utilization Ability Exists in All Tasks"), and Ms. Hong Okyoung (essay titled "The Swallow That Brought Mr. Park"). Each received a certificate and a prize of 500,000 KRW. Six recipients of the Encouragement Award were each given a certificate and a prize of 300,000 KRW.

No Geumgi, head of KCCI’s Qualification Evaluation Division, stated, "For the past half-century, KCCI’s office-related certificates have been recognized as the most authoritative and credible in Korea," adding, "We will continue to reflect the needs of companies and examinees and strive to contribute to the spread of a competency-based hiring culture."
