Kim Geun-sik and Kim Yong-tae Join Yoon's Campaign Headquarters... Public Support from 147 Former Diplomats Revealed
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The People Power Party officially appointed Rep. Lee Yong-ho, a native of Honam, as co-chairman of the Central Election Countermeasures Committee, and appointed former Vision Strategy Office Director Kim Geun-sik as head of the Situation Analysis Office of the General Situation Headquarters.
The People Power Party announced this additional personnel appointment plan on the 8th.
Kim Jung-jae and Bae Hyun-jin will serve as policy standing directors under the Policy General Headquarters. Kim Yong-tae, a former lawmaker who supported former Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong during the primary, was appointed as head of the Policy Planning Headquarters.
Former lawmaker Joo Kwang-deok was appointed as standing strategic advisor, former lawmaker Kim Sung-tae (proportional representative) as IT advisor, and former lawmaker Lee Sang-il, who served as public relations director in the Yoon Seok-yeol campaign, was appointed as head of the External Cooperation Headquarters of the Comprehensive Support General Headquarters.
Additionally, among the committees directly under the Central Election Committee, Rep. Lee Heon-seung was appointed chairman of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, and Rep. Ryu Seong-geol was appointed chairman of the National Budget Innovation Committee. The COVID-19 Crisis Response Committee, chaired by former Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency Director Jeong Ki-seok, includes eight external members such as Professor Kwon Joon-soo of Seoul National University College of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry.
Meanwhile, on the same day, 147 former diplomats issued a public statement supporting Yoon’s foreign policy. In the statement, they expressed agreement that the inter-Korean relationship, which has deteriorated into a "master-servant relationship," must be normalized, and they actively agreed with the stance of establishing a comprehensive alliance system between South Korea and the United States and participating in the global free democratic coalition.
