[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Korea Federation of Medium-Sized Enterprises announced on the 8th that at the board meeting held on the 7th at JW Marriott Hotel Seoul in Seocho-gu, Seoul, Shim Pack Chairman Choi Jin-sik was unanimously appointed as the 11th chairman.
The appointment of the 11th chairman will be finalized after approval by the board of directors and the regular general meeting in February next year. The current chairman Kang Ho-gap's term ends on February 24 next year. The term of the 11th chairman will last until the regular general meeting held in February 2025.
Chairman Choi joined the Federation in 2012 and, together with Chairman Kang, led the enactment of the Special Act on Medium-Sized Enterprises in December 2013. In addition, he made significant contributions to the launch of the Federation as a statutory organization in July 2014 and the establishment of the Medium-Sized Enterprise Research Institute in May 2015. Since 2019, as the senior vice chairman of the Federation, he has consistently supported the Federation's projects aimed at policy innovation to improve the management environment of medium-sized enterprises and strengthening corporate capabilities.
