She said, "If the Justice Party and the Progressive Party join hands to promote 'progressive unity to break the entrenched conservative two-party system,' it could provide new strength and hope to the many workers and people who have been hurt by the division of progressive politics."
Candidate Kim explained, "Since last September, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and five progressive parties have launched a joint presidential response organization and have been conducting joint actions such as issuing joint declarations. Now is the time to discuss 'candidate unification.' The Progressive Party announced its intention to participate in discussions on progressive unification at the joint presidential response organization meeting on the 2nd."
She continued, "I propose and will promote meetings with the chairman of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, representatives of the five progressive parties, and presidential candidates to fully advance the project of 'progressive unity to break the entrenched system,'" emphasizing her commitment.
Furthermore, she added, "We will realize the unity of the progressive camp in the 2022 presidential election and, beyond that, strengthen progressive unity after the election so that progressive politics can stand tall as an alternative force in Korean society's politics."
Regarding the push for unification of progressive candidates and the unity of progressive forces, Candidate Kim said, "The reactionary forces standing before the grave are joining forces for their vested interest greed politics, so how could the progressive forces fail to unite for the hope of workers and the people? My mission is to ensure that the anger and potential of workers and the people are fully unleashed in this presidential election."
