Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station Conducts Life-Saving Training for Winter Water Accident Preparedness
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station (Chief Kim Hee-chul) announced on the 7th that it will conduct life-saving training for rescue team members to improve diving adaptability in preparation for winter water accidents at the Nambu University Municipal International Swimming Pool until the 10th.
This training was organized to enhance the expertise of rescue team members to enable quick and efficient rescue activities in the event of water accidents. Three teams of 119 rescue personnel will conduct the training in three sessions according to their work schedules.
The main contents include ▲ underwater adaptation training and practicing underwater search life-saving techniques ▲ underwater diving training wearing winter water rescue dry suits ▲ mastering the use of water rescue equipment ▲ learning emergency treatment methods in case of hypothermia, etc.
Jo Jong-hoon, head of the 119 Disaster Response Department, said, "Since winter water accidents often involve unexpected situations, thorough preparation and prior training are essential. We will do our best to improve on-site response capabilities through continuous training."
