DMT Changes Company Name to 'Topcomedia'... "Diversifying Business Using Toptoon Platform"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] DMT announced on the 7th that it will change its company name to 'Topco Media' through an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to be held on the 23rd, in order to establish a foundation for entering new businesses and to enhance its corporate image.
With the name change as an opportunity, the company plans to lead business diversification centered on a practical webtoon platform business.
Previously, DMT disclosed that it plans to proceed with a major shareholder change contract with Topco CEO Yoo Jung-seok and Topco. Along with this, to diversify its business, it will add online and mobile services such as development, production, distribution, and sales of digital content to its business objectives.
Currently, Topco is a webtoon platform with 50 million subscribers worldwide. It is expanding its platform globally through localization efforts not only in Korea but also in Japan, the United States, and other countries.
