GIST supports 3 startup companies at the '2021 Korea Software Grand Challenge'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] GIST (President Kim Ki-seon) announced on the 6th that it supported three startup companies participating in the 2021 Preliminary Startup Package specialized field to participate in the '2021 Korea Software Grand Exhibition.'
The startups supported by GIST are Carbon (CEO Lee Yoo-sung), Fluent Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeon Ye-chan), and Fashion Cake (CEO Jo Kyung-jun). Carbon is a company developing a driving assistance application using the latest deep learning technology and computer vision systems, working on an application that improves safe driving environments.
Fluent Co., Ltd. is a company developing 'TELL A TALE,' a real-time conversational facial motion synthesis solution for smooth communication in daily life while wearing masks.
Fashion Cake developed a user-customized fashion recommendation system application through a deep learning-based fashion recommendation algorithm.
GIST supports and manages the 2021 Preliminary Startup Package specialized field (AI field) project, evaluating the excellence and commercialization potential of business items centered on artificial intelligence technology, and provides physical and human resources to achieve startup commercialization.
To strengthen the capabilities of preliminary entrepreneurs, various capability enhancement trainings such as labor and personnel, investment, and marketing are conducted, and through 1:1 mentor matching, difficulties in business execution are resolved and specialized program support is provided to help lead to successful startups by supporting various infrastructures and services.
Jo Byung-kwan, head of the GIST Startup Promotion Center, said, "We will actively support the participation of preliminary startup companies in various programs so that they can promote their startup items and have opportunities to attract investment through participation in exhibitions such as the 2021 Korea Software Grand Exhibition."
Meanwhile, 'SoftWave 2021,' the largest software convergence exhibition in Korea, was hosted by the SoftWave organizing committee and supported by seven government ministries including the Ministry of Science and ICT and Seoul City. It was held at COEX from the 1st to the 3rd.
