Prosecutors Assign Case of 'Jo Dong-yeon Private Life Exposure' Lawsuit Against Gaseyeon to Public Investigation Division
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The prosecution has assigned the case involving the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon), which was reported to the prosecution for exposing the private life controversy of former Democratic Party co-chairperson Jo Dong-yeon, to the special investigation division dedicated to election and political cases and has begun a full-scale investigation.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 6th that it assigned the case against Gaseyeon corporation and its operators, lawyer Kang Yong-seok and former MBC reporter Kim Se-ui, who were reported for defamation of a candidate under the Public Official Election Act and defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, to the Public Investigation Division 2 (Chief Prosecutor Kim Kyung-geun). The Public Investigation Division 2 is a division specializing in election and political crimes.
