Family Vacation, ‘Childbirth and Childcare’ Good! … Ulsan Office of Education Reacquires Ministry of Gender Equality and Family’s ‘Family-Friendly Certification’
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education has been re-recognized as a family-friendly certified institution by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
Ulsan Office of Education was the first among all education offices nationwide to be selected as a family-friendly certified institution in 2016.
The Office of Education consistently operated family-friendly programs to receive re-certification, which will be maintained until November 30, 2024.
The family-friendly certification is a system that certifies companies or institutions that exemplarily support workers in balancing work and family life.
The evaluation criteria include leadership of top management, implementation of family-friendly policies, and employee satisfaction. Selection is made through document review, on-site inspection, and certification committee deliberation.
Ulsan Office of Education operates flexible working hours, workplace daycare centers, women's rest rooms, and Book Maru and Forest 375 to help employees balance work and family life. Additionally, Wednesdays and Fridays are designated as ‘Family Love Days’ every week.
The Office of Education also runs family-friendly policies such as operating family vacation facilities, encouraging use of parental leave and maternity leave, and supporting long-term service leave.
