[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] A national petition demanding severe punishment and disclosure of personal information of the students who collectively assaulted a foreign-national middle school girl in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, has been raised.
On the 5th, a post titled "Strong punishment and disclosure of personal information for the four perpetrators who tied up and subjected a foreign-national middle school girl to a sadistic group assault for 6 hours" was posted on the national petition board.
The petitioner stated, "Four peer middle school students who collectively assaulted and abused a foreign-national middle school girl were caught by the police," adding, "The perpetrators insulted the victim's nationality during the assault. According to the police investigation, all were intoxicated."
They continued, "After a thorough investigation, we request strong punishment and disclosure of personal information for these four perpetrators," and added, "If this is not possible, we request strong punishment for the parents of these perpetrators."

The other two, being juvenile offenders (criminal minors aged 10 or older but under 14), were referred to the Juvenile Division of the Ulsan District Court. These four are accused of forcibly making the Mongolian-national victim drink alcohol and tying her hands and feet, repeatedly slapping her, and collectively assaulting her for 2 to 3 hours starting around midnight on July 3 in a location in downtown Yangsan.
